Announcing Our First DISCOVERIES Book and Author

The Novel Fox DISCOVERIES is excited to announce the signing of Jacqueline Seewald for her novel, Death Legacy.  Death Legacy was previously published in hard and soft cover formats in 2012 and 2013, and we are happy to bring Death Legacy to a new audience with the launch of its first ebook edition, coming October 2014.

About the Book:

After what appears to be a chance encounter with handsome young psychiatrist Dr. Daniel Reiner in the south of France, beautiful and elegant intelligence consultant Michelle Hallam decides to refer her new client to him for help coping with the recent and mysterious death of her husband, an employee of the CIA.  However, Michelle soon finds herself investigating the death with Daniel in tow, who is too smitten to leave her alone.  As the pair slowly uncover information related to the death, while at the same time struggling to figure out their complicated relationship, they find themselves in increasing danger from those who wish to keep the death shrouded in mystery.  It isn’t long before Michelle is investigating more than just one murder, and also desperately trying to keep her and Daniel from being next.

The purpose of this campaign was two-part: advertise our favorite genres and demonstrate the creative team’s design versatility.  The Novel Fox is not only committed to publishing enjoyable and well-written books, but to well-packaged books.

While most designers have a natural style all their own, we believe the book cover art should still lead the reader towards the genre of the book and set an atmosphere for the story.

This week we present our creative team's final genre specific image--military! Although maybe not its own genre per se, we love military centered fiction in any genre, and look forward to future publications involving the topic.

Our creative team tackled one of our favorite genres--science fiction! Have the crustaceans of a far off planet evolved into a nefarious space going race? Let's hope we never find out!

Enjoy your Labor Day everyone!

Espionage! We thought about sending this out using Snapchat so it would "self-destruct", but maybe that's getting carried away...

As the company went public and the website went live, we created graphics to accompany announcements and advertisements on our blog and social media platforms.

The design of the graphics were spin-offs of the website design to visually connect back to “The Novel Fox World” created on the home page.  We also tapped into our witty side with the imprint ads, using fox paw prints on each version.

The images above showcase ads for the: Website Launch, Call for Submissions, Discoveries Imprint, and Shorts Imprint.

Announcing Our Imprints

Announcing Our Imprints

The Novel Fox is excited to announce the launch of its three imprints: FIRSTS, DISCOVERIES, and SHORTS.  While the imprints share certain commonalities, each imprint has a unique focus and mission.

The Novel Fox FIRSTS focuses on never before published novel-length fiction. FIRSTS is the most traditional of the imprints, and intends to publish approximately six books each year, spread evenly throughout the year.

The Novel Fox DISCOVERIES focuses on novel-length fiction that has previously been traditionally or self-published. Importantly, DISCOVERIES seeks to provide more than a mere repackaging of previously published fiction, but rather a second chance for books that may not have received the editorial or marketing attention they deserved in connection with their initial publication. DISCOVERIES intends to publish approximately twelve books each year, spread evenly throughout the year.

The Novel Fox SHORTS focuses of short fiction that varies in length from short stories through novellas.  SHORTS seeks to contribute to the returning market for short fiction, which has benefited tremendously from the growth in digital publication.  SHORTS hopes to provide a launching point for new authors, and intends to publish a mix of stand-alone novellas, anthologies and collections throughout the year.

The Novel Fox is currently reviewing submissions that fall under each of the above imprints, and is looking forward to future announcements regarding upcoming FIRSTS, DISCOVERIES, and SHORTS releases.

Designing a website can be intimidating these days – it’s the e-face of the company. But we had a blast designing this website and wanted it to show. Less is more, without lacking in personality.

It’s easy-to-navigate and establishes the symbiotic relationship between the publisher-author-reader.

The images above showcase: the different platforms the website can adapt to, the background illustration that sets the atmosphere for “The Novel Fox World”, and the mascots for the author & reader.
